GlassKissCast_Negative_08
‘first kiss’, 2009, space of a kiss cast inside optical glass

Charlie Murphy’s extensive series of one off ‘kiss’ sculptures, collected over many years on her ‘kiss-in’ event tour , are created using a dental alginate to take a detailed impression of the inside of a kiss and then transformed into a negative space  inside  a block of optical glass.

Each mouth and style of kissing is different, so each kiss sculpture is completely unique.

This  extensive survey of the many different  forms of the kiss  form a major part of  her ‘Anatomy of Desire’ project which has been  exhibited at the Wellcome Collection, London ,   The Wilson Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum’s and The Gallery at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth.

You can commission your own unique kiss sculpture!.
