Early photographic experiments recording celestial activity such as the comet Hale Bop and the 1999 eclipse of the sun inspired several series of new works;
Developed in parallel with the series ‘pitch’ , these images represent Murphy’s experiments in exploring how film sensitivity can be manipulated to record evocative night and moonlit scenes.
